Momentous decision about to be actioned!
Following a frustrating autumn and winter period, during which we were repeatedly thwarted and disrupted by time, commitments and above all unpredictable weather - it finally dawned on me that, at the current rate of progress, I would still be working on the project well into my dotage.
So, having done the necessary financial calculations and arrived somewhere in the region of what is doable, we decided that as of Easter I would stop working as a teacher and start working as a builder/roofer/plumber/painter and decorator/handyman/not so handyman/sparky/joiner more or less full time.
It will be strange to be not teaching after so many years but I am so excited about my new career path, although to be honest I'm not thrilled with the salary implications. However, one of the many pluses is to be able to buy a collection of new toys - drills, planes, saws etc. as well as having an excuse to spend aeons of time on youtube learning how to use them. Hopefully I'll also find time to keep this blog a bit more up to date. Watch this space.
